Echo Lounge Closes
According to Creative Loafing, the Echo Lounge in East Atlanta is permanently closed following a months-long liquor license dispute.
Let me take a moment to eulogize this truly great music venue where I first met the woman I've been happily in love with ever since. It was a cavernous place with a comfortable and oddly stylish side room that attracted great talent and interesting shows. I'm glad for the nights I spent there, and I know I join many, many Atlanta-area residents in saying that it will be missed for years to come.
City government can now add another name to the "great night spots killed" list. Nice work folks.
